The challenges of forced annexation

This year 2009 has been a really tough year for the people that worked diligently on defending our neighborhood from devastating tax increases. Our persistence paid off but there is still a lot of hard work to do in the state legislator. We all need to be aware that the City will come back in a couple of years and unless the laws change we may not be able to stop them next time. There are currently several ideas under consideration locally and State wide that could lesson the burden of forced annexation. Unfortunately the elimination of the current law seems unlikely in the immediate future. That's why we must continue to write, call and e-mail our state representatives. We highly recommend becoming a involved with the Anti-annexation movements in the State of North Carolina. To restore the rights of the residents, to give them the free will to choose if they want to become part of a city and secure a stable life for their families and loved ones without the financial persecution of aggressive city planners and tax revenue collectors.
Thanks for your help!
Sincerely, Mat Trickel
